When it comes to your mental health, it doesn’t matter whether you are a child or an adult. We all get stressed at times and the amount of stress can differ each time. With special regards to academics, it is important that you take care of your mental health. School can take its toll on all of us. For students, work can pile up, classes can become a place of insecurity and the feeling of misunderstanding information can make your head spin. It is not just young people that this affects though. Teachers can become overwhelmed by planning and organizing, grading pupil’s work and trying to control a classroom.
All of this can sometimes become too much. When we feel overwhelmed, it comes to mind that we should talk to others about our problems and lift some of the weight off of our shoulders. Of course, if you have someone like this in your life, then go and talk to them about your problems. However, some may feel that they do not have a person that they can talk to or, even if they do, they may not want to discuss their problems for many different reasons. These people may still feel the need to vent before they explode.
The thoughts room is a project set up to help anyone find a quiet space in which they can type out their thoughts, worries and fears and watch them fall away into the stars while listening to calming music. The things you write are not recorded but allow you to voice your problems which may seem difficult if we were to say it out loud. Take time for yourself. Even if it’s only for a couple of minutes. Watch your worries fade into the sky and find some sense of peace, even for a little while before you find the courage to speak to someone about them.
